A Howling Good Time

I'd like to say that I created the below video in...like, 20 minutes. I mean, I could say that...but it would be a total lie.

I'd captured the sound with my cell...in video mode. For anyone who knows anything about...anything gadget-y, this was a freakin' nightmare to convert, construct and conspire. By the end, creating the continuity had me contemplating controversial consumption....(read: I needed several refills on my Cloudy...big-time.)

I was determined to have it go a certain way...but I'll admit that right now, I don't give a crap anymore. Ya get what 'cha get. Trust me...it was a freaky sound at the time. It was all dark...and cold....and stuff.

Just don't be scared...and hopefully, no living creatures were harmed in the making of this video...except for me, of course...as I've now been technologically traumatized...(insert dramatic sigh here.)

WOW! I don't know what it is, but if it gets any closer, stay inside & shine a flashlight outside to try to see it (them?) And don't let the dogs out by themselves. Be safe & let me know how it's going. (((HUGS)))

I would be freaking out! Next time they come howling get another glass of wine and turn up the music or tv and drown 'em out. :)

Am I the only one that thought that was awesome? XD

Awesome video; LOVE Snoopy!

But, ummm, yeah - don't be wandering around outside alone....and maybe re-think your dog-walking methods for a bit.

OK, I had to come back this morning! A little birdie (Chrissy) told me it's your birthday! Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday, dear Kathryn, Happy birthday to you. And many more...Hope you have a wonderful day! (((HUGS)))

Maybe they were just trying to tell you happy birthday the only way they knew how... Then again, maybe you should rethink early morning walks and the like. Oh and make some room for snoopy, I have a feeling he's creeped out too.

:)

Dispatch just jumped up when he heard the first howl....

Sounds like coyotes to me. Definately keep Metro indoors.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

We hear that all the time out here. Coyotes yipping and howling. Gets the dog going too. Some nights I swear they are right beside the house! Maybe do yourself a favor and don't watch any werewolf movies for awhile!! Those always get me.

And happy birthday!!

Loved the video.

Ha ha! My high school mascot was Snoopy. While I've actually remembered this, HAPPY BIRFDAY!

Um, when did the Iditarod get re-routed to go past your house?? Isn't oh, idk, a tad bit out of the sledders way?
My parents had a Siberian Husky when I was growing up and he would howl sometimes. It sounded creepy. Like he was in mourning. He didn't do it all the time, thank goodness.
Where did you tape these doggies? If it was near your house...well I thought you lived in New York. Not Walnut Grove on Little House on the Prairie XD

Collette: Creepy, right?? I won't let Metro anywhere near outside when I hear it. If it's wild animals, then I'm terrified. If it's a bunch of little beagles, then I'm golden.

Tia: I KNOW! I've only heard 'em about 3 times in the 2 years we've been here...but it's soooo creepy.

Gavin: Why does this not surprise me? Not even a little...I wonder if you'd feel the same if you were walking OUTSIDE when you heard it??

kathryn said...

uo-chan: Aw, honey...don't you be depressed. Things are gonna look up very, very soon. Count on it!

Gigi: I think you may be right. Whatever it is, I don't think I want to meet....it.

Collette: Aw, thank you sweetie! I didn't realize Chrissy had posted until I noticed lots more traffic coming through. How sweet is she? Thanks so much for the wishes!

kathryn said...

Fierce: HA! Wow....if that was "Happy Birthday" in coyote/beagle talk, that's quite the serenade I've gotten. It's scary!

Maureen@IslandRoar: I KNOW! It took freakin' forever...from the very beginning when my cell said the file was too big to send to my email. (I hope it's Snoopy...I've gotta check w/Chrissy and see if it sounds like her Bernie.)

TC: Really?? Oh, that's too funny! Metro didn't know what to make of it...just got all antsy and looked puppy-worried.

kathryn said...

Tinkerschnitzel: Aw. Thank you, sweetie. I appreciate the wishes. Ya think it's coyotes? I really wasn't sure...

Spot: Thanks, honey! So they ARE coyotes, huh? Scary stuff! I'm glad I've captured that sound...it's eerie. Glad you liked my video (took me long enough...)

uo-chan: If I see 'em, you know I'll pull out my trusty cell. And then I'll probably pass out from the fright.

kathryn said...

Laura: Hey sis! Thanks for the wishes! I guess great minds think the same cupcake. You may quote me...or maybe not. It's late...I'm tired. See you soon!

Carol: As usual, you're a hoot! It only takes me about a full minute now to locate the stupid folder that the camera function is in, so I guess I'm getting better.

Oddyoddyo13: I WANT TO BELIEVE it's SNOOPY! Is that so wrong??!

lauren: Thanks, sweets! I appreciate the shout-out. Snoopy ROCKS!

kathryn said...

Wendy Blum: Siberian Huskys howl? I did not know this...and yes, I'm north of Manhattan now. A little TOO north, if you ask me...

wendy said...

Oh, yes. At least our dog did. Sparky would howl and even some times, if my dad would leave he would sit with his butt on the seat of the picnic table his front feet on the ground and he would sound like he was crying until my dad would come back. If my dad had a trip to go on, he was a truck driver then, Sparky would cry/howl for as long as a half hour before he'd settle down.

kathryn said...

Wendy Blum: Oh, poor Sparky! That would just about break my heart! Boy, he must've really loved your Dad!
