Smell the Roses

Dear Readers,

It’s been said that life’s not about the destination…but the journey. This is sometimes known as the “Are we there yet?” query, once you have children….and is often paired with the “Don’t make me turn this car around” warning…followed in quick succession by the “This is why we won’t take long car trips” proclamation.

And, I’ve still remembered my point. (Ha.) Every day has something…something that you can smile about at the end of it.

I was overtired today…mainly due to getting approximately 26 minutes of sleep last night. Honestly, I don’t know how I’m still awake to be writing this. I walked around in a perpetual foggy state today, pacing myself for the end of the day when I figured sheer exhaustion would claim me. That was the bad part of the day.

The good part was watching the boys beat the crap out of some tall, bamboo-like weeds growing up the fence by the driveway. Everything is so dramatic when you’re a kid. It was great to watch them seriously blow off some steam after a hard day of hitting the books.

I also heard from Secret Agent Foyce…reminding me that friends are just a mouse-click away.

And isn’t that what really matters?

It's so hard to function when you're sleep deprived. I hope you slept well last night.

As a perpetual insomniac I feel your pain; hopefully you are not sleep-deprived for the long weekend. Indeed, friends are only a click away; life shows us its good side just when we need it most.

Welcome, Nicole...good to see you here! Yet another thing we have in common I see...insomnia. It is the bane of my existence...sigh....
