This & That & A Nod to St. Pat

Urban Dictionary’s description for FaShizzle: “When it becomes hella dark and sh!t and you live in the hood and sh!t and pop glocks and eat mayonnaise sandwiches riding on Impalas and llamas and you see this one white dude get shot. ‘Oh, sh!t. Cracker got dropped. Fa shizzle!’”

This from Phrases.org (the section on most commonly misquoted phrases): “Beam me up, Scotty” was attributed to Captain James T. Kirk, in the Star Trek series. Evidently, the closest that Captain Kirk ever got to this was “Beam us up, Mr. Scott”, in the “Gamesters of Triskelion” episode. And so, (since no-one’s taking credit for it) I shall reveal this phrase as originating with none other than me... and you may consider it copyrighted as of this date. You’ll need to send me ten bucks any time you use it…and I don’t accept checks.

Wax figure of Prince William from Madame Tussauds:

(The gal kissing him is the real deal.) Pretty good…right?

Excerpt from DMV site:

  • You can use form MV-232 to change the address on the DMV records for your driver license, learner permit or non-driver photo ID card and your vehicle registration.

  • You can change the address on the records for your driver license for no fee, but only if you do not order new documents.

Interesting facts about St. Patrick’s Day:

  • Wearing green, eating green food and even drinking green beer, is said to commemorate St Patrick's use of the shamrock - although blue was the original color of his vestments.
  • St Patrick was said to have proclaimed that everyone should have a drop of the "hard stuff" on his feast day after chastising an innkeeper who served a short measure of whiskey. In the custom known as "drowning the shamrock", the shamrock that has been worn on a lapel or hat is put in the last drink of the evening.
  • Dublin has a parade that attracts hundreds of thousands of people, while in Chicago the river is dyed green for a few hours. The biggest parade is normally held in New York, while the largest celebration in the southern hemisphere is in Sydney, Australia.

So, cheers to all….whether you’ve got some Ireland in your genes, or you just drink like you do!

For some reason, St. Patrick's Day amuses me. I liked reading those bits of trivia.
