Something Tells Me I'm Into Something Good

Yes, I realize I’ve done a one-eighty on the subject line from yesterday…lest you think I’m not paying attention. I’ll admit that I don’t always plan ahead very well, but that’s one of the things you love about me, no??

Yes??

Yesterday’s post talked about “rainy days”…I should’ve saved it for today, when it would have been ironically-appropriate, as it’s rainin’ cats & poodles here.

Now it’s Friday again and I’m facing the weekend on a high: I’ve submitted my article at 1pm today. For those of you that are unaware, this is nothing short of miraculous….I had four whole hours to spare. Four. Do you know what can be done in four hours??

I could:

  • Wash my hair, dry my hair, straighten my hair, then curl my hair…with the end result being that carefree, I-just-woke-up-but-don’t-I-look-fabulous look (although, I would never bother with this effort on a day when it’s already raining)
  • Do a room-by-room final, end-all be-all search for the master remote (still MIA and now presumed NTBSOHFA…that’s “never to be seen or heard from again”)
  • Give some serious consideration to what “ALTS” means…it’s written in my hurried-hand on a pink post-it and I’ve no clue what I was thinking
  • Seriously consider, then decline, then reconsider and ultimately reject the idea of cleaning out my purse (I wonder if the remote could be somewhere in there?)
  • Take one heck of a nap

Instead, I’m DONE. HOME-FREE. OVER THE MOON. KIT AND KABOODLE. Whatever….it’s neither here nor there….whatever that means.

So, I’m still at my computer but I’m doing what I want to do…as opposed to what I have to do.

Right now, I’m happy…I’m sipping a glass of Cloudy and munching on a chunk of Jarlsburg. I do love my cheese, but not for the reason you may assume. I tell myself it’s because I’m fulfilling the USDA (recommended daily allowance) of calcium to keep from breaking a hip the next time the dog trips me up… but the truth is actually much more simplistic. I love my cheese because I can munch on it and simultaneously type. How many types of food can provide this kind of sustenance? Sure, it may look completely ridiculous, but you’re not supposed to be watching me, you’re supposed to be reading my words. If it’s that important for you to see me, I’ll call you when I’m done….but then you owe me a snapshot back…it’s only fair.

Meanwhile, the entire weekend lies ahead of me…like a shiny penny (heads up) just waiting for me to spot it and scoop it up. (See a penny, pick it up and all the day you’ll have good luck)

What the foreseeable future holds remains to be seen...but of one thing I am certain:

I have more I wanna say….there’s scads more inside that needs to get out. To those of you who are listening, you have my eternal gratitude. Each post is kind of like giving birth for me, with the words being my babies and the process feeling both exhilarating and agonizing at the same time. I know I’m not always as brief as some would prefer…but if patience is a virtue, then you, my faithful readers...are the most righteous people I know.

Oh, please...don't think anyone ever wants you to be brief!! You're very entertaining!
